Alejo is a 40 foot sailboat designed for a small, personal sailing trip through the San Blas Islands. Hosted by Captain Diego Ramos, the experience is built around easy days on the water, flexible island routes, and a warm onboard atmosphere. Diego grew up dreaming of sailing and now shares that life with guests who want to see Guna Yala from the sea. His approach is simple: arrive ready to enjoy the islands, and the crew handles the sailing, planning, and daily rhythm of the trip.
The boat welcomes up to three guests, making Alejo a good fit for couples, small families, or travelers who prefer a more intimate charter instead of a larger group experience. Trips can be arranged as a private charter or shared charter, depending on availability and guest preference. Your route is guided by the conditions of the day, with stops for island visits, swimming, beach time, and quiet anchorages selected by the crew. Onboard, Diego is joined by Wendel, a Guna cook, sailor, and local tourism guide. Wendel brings important regional knowledge to the experience, helping guests connect with the islands in a respectful and practical way. Together, the crew creates a safe and easygoing sailing San Blas experience where you can focus on the water, the islands, and the pace of life in Guna Yala. Arrival Day (Panama City → Port → Sailboat / Catamaran)
- Pickup: 5:00 AM – 5:20 AM
- Depart Panama City: ~5:30 AM
- Breakfast stop (Not Included): ~6:30 AM
- Passport verification: ~7:30 AM
- Arrive at the port: 8:00 AM – 8:45 AM
- Arrive to Sailboat / Catamaran: 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
- Settle in & start enjoying the boat: 10:30 AM – 11:50 AM
- Lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
- Afternoon: relax, sail, and/or visit nearby islands (based on preferences + conditions)
- Dinner: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Full Charter Days (For trips of 2 nights or more)
There is no strict routine, but most days follow a comfortable rhythm like:
- Breakfast: 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM
- Morning: sailing, snorkeling, swimming, or island time (based on your preferences)
- Lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
- Afternoon: another island stop or relaxing at anchor
- Dinner: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Exact islands/activities are decided with the captain/crew and may change daily due to weather, sea conditions, and local logistics.
Final Day (Return to Panama City)
- Breakfast: 6:30 AM – 7:30 AM
- Sailboat / Catamaran Departure: 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM
- Arrive back in Panama City: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM

You may cancel your trip at any time. Refunds follow three simple rules. You receive a 90% refund when you cancel more than 5 days before your trip because local permits and fees are non refundable once issued. You receive a 50% refund when you cancel between 2 and 5 days before your trip. You receive no refund when you cancel less than 2 days before your trip. - Coverage is tied to your active Sea San Blas trip window (pickup to drop-off), with specific baggage protection rules for flights to Panama.
- TourCare+ must be attached before arrival in Panama so eligibility checks and policy issuance can be completed correctly.
- Policy issuance, limits, exclusions, and claims handling are governed by TourCare+ terms and partner requirements.
