Our Refund Policy
Our refund policy follows the same structure and rules used by Sea San Blas, with wording updated to make everything easier to understand for sailing guests. All cancellation deadlines refer to 8:00 PM (Panama time).
90% Refund — Cancel 5+ Days Before Your Charter
Cancel at least five days before your sailing date and you’ll receive a
90% refund. This is the maximum possible refund because Guna authorities and other vendors charge non-refundable permit and service fees once your reservation is confirmed.
50% Refund — Cancel 2 to 5 Days Before Your Charter
If you cancel between two and five days before departure, you will receive a 50% refund.
0% Refund — Cancel Less Than 2 Days Before Your Charter
Cancellations made less than two days before your charter are not eligible for a refund. At this stage, boat preparation, crew scheduling, provisioning, and local permits have already been finalized.
No Cash Payments
All reservations must be paid securely on our website or via bank transfer. We do not accept cash payments for sailing charters.
Conditions for Issuing Refunds
Sail Sea San Blas will issue refunds under the following circumstances, always using the refund percentages listed above.
Cancellation by Sail Sea San Blas
If we must cancel your sailing trip for safety reasons—such as weather concerns—or due to unavoidable operational issues, you may choose to reschedule or receive a refund based on the timelines described above.
Medical Evacuation or Emergency
If a medical emergency requires evacuation from the trip, or if Sail Sea San Blas faces an unforeseen emergency, applicable refunds will follow the same refund terms listed above.
Situations Not Eligible for Refunds
Refunds cannot be issued in the following scenarios:
Early Departure
If a guest chooses to leave the trip before it ends, no refund applies.
No-Show / Failure to Attend
Guests who do not attend their scheduled sailing trip without cancelling in advance are not eligible for a refund.
Unfavorable Weather
Refunds are not issued for dissatisfaction with the weather. Refunds only apply when
Sail Sea San Blas determines that weather conditions are unsafe and cancels the trip.
Missed Pickup or Late Arrival
Guests who are not at the designated pickup location at the scheduled time, or who miss their morning departure, will not receive a refund. When possible, we may offer rescheduling to a later date at no additional cost.
Late Cancellations
Cancellations made
less than 2 days before 8:00 PM (Panama time) are not eligible for any refund unless the guest provides verifiable proof of an extenuating emergency.
Policy Enforcement
This refund policy is applied consistently to ensure fairness and to maintain reliable operations for our guests and crew. Refund requests that fall outside these terms cannot be approved. Sail Sea San Blas may update this policy at any time without prior notice.
